
Senior Data Center Engineer
Evaluates existing data center environments, designs solutions that address business issues, and implementsefficient and cost saving solutions for customers.
• Creates and manages the project for key technical deliverables including, but not limited to, capacity planning, implementation, configuration, usage reporting, and allocation to host.
• Manages the implementation of Enterprise Systems or storage across multiple platforms for engagements.
• Provides guidance regarding architecture and application processes to the engineering team and the project as a whole.
• Provides pre-sales engineering support to sales team to ensure that all needs of any sales opportunities are fulfilled.
• Coordinates conference calls for technical issues to provide status of open opportunities and resourcerequirements to management.
• Serves as a liaison between company and the customer regarding the implementation and maintenance of Systems or Storage Solutions.
• Monitors log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission critical systems.
• Provides Level 3 support for all installed platforms and provides operational health of the Open Systemsinfrastructure and the applications used to control it.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
• Works multiple vendor solutions for Server Systems & Storage.
• Engages in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging technologies. This includes obtaining vendor-related certifications, to enhance professional development and our corporate standing with our vendors.
Position Qualifications/Requirements:
• Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.Basic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficiency in the English language and reading comprehension.• Basic knowledge of software and/or hardware, testing and implementation.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network theory, design and architecture.
• Relevant knowledge in Network Management, Security, Planning, Traffic Engineering and Implementation.
Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience in a minimum of 3 of the following areas of specialization:- Storage Networking Architectures and Applications- Microsoft Active Directory- Citrix Metaframe, Access Gateway, NetScalar- Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007- Microsoft Sharepoint- SANS/NAS HDS, NetApp, IBM, HP- Servers Operating Systems, Structures and Applications (MS, Novell, Unix, Citrix)- System Management Systems and Applications- Project Management
